War trial: Order on Mojaheed’s review plea tomorrow
The Supreme Court today fixed tomorrow for passing an order on a petition filed by condemned war criminal Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed seeking review of its judgment that upheld death penalty for him.
The four-member Appellate Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, fixed the date after hearing both the prosecution and defence.

Security has been beefed up in and around the court area. Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and police in uniform and plainclothes have taken positions to maintain law and order.
Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mojaheed on October 14 submitted the review petition to the SC, seeking acquittal on all the charges levelled against him.
In the petitions, he sought reconsideration of the SC judgments on the ground that he was sentenced for “offences committed by others”.
The SC upheld the capital punishment of Mojaheed in June after hearing his appeals against the verdict by a war crimes tribunal.
The International Crimes Tribunal issued death warrant for him on October 1, a day after the SC released its full verdict.
