Mother, son pass SSC exams in Natore
A mother and her son set a precedent passing this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in Bagatipara upazila of Natore.
Moley Rani Kundu, 37, got GPA 4.53 from Bagatipara Girl's High School while her son Minmay Kundu scored GPA 4.43 from Bagatipara Pilot School.
In her instant reaction, Moley Rani Kundu said, "I am very excited that I have passed the examination. I feel proud as we passed the exams at a time."
"Before the exam, when I asked my son to study, he often challenged me saying that I won’t pass the exam. I accepted the challenge and proved myself." she added.
"I just wanted to enlighten myself and to educate my two sons," she said adding, “I don’t know whether I will be able to complete my education or not.”
She got married when she was in class nine, said her father Asit Kumar Kundu adding that, “My daughter has proved herself.”
Meanwhile, Moley’s son Minmay Kundu said that he was very happy as he passed the exam along with his mother.
"I am very proud of my mother. My mother has done better than me and it has made me more committed to do better in the future. My mother has proved that hard work and confidence can bring success."
Debabrata Kundu, husband of Moley Rani Kandu, said, "It’s the happiest day in my life. I am proud of them because they have made me honoured. I am satisfied with their results as I could not give them better facilities for their education."
"I congratulate both of them specially the mother Moley Rani because she has done an extraordinary job," said Shahina Khatun, deputy commissioner of Natore.
The district administration will help them for their future education, she added.
