Moulvibazar-3 by-polls Dec 8

The by-election to the Moulvibazar-3 constituency will be held on December 8, the Election Commission announced today.

The constituency fell vacant following the death of Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali.

The last dates of filing nomination and its withdrawal are November 11 and 22 respectively, while nominations' scrutiny will be held on November 14.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad told reporters this at a press briefing at the commission’s Media Centre around noon.

Mohsin Ali died at Singapore General Hospital at the age of 67 on September 14.
