Mubashar’s scholarly network petitions to locate him
A petition signed by 275 persons, majority from missing North South University teacher Mubashar Hasan’s scholarly network asking government to locate him promptly, was submitted to the Bangladesh prime minister’s office.
The petition that started in GoPetition on November 12 was signed by people who not just studied with Mubashar in Scotland and Brisbane, but also academics worked with him and probably published papers with him.
Lucy West, PhD Candidate of School of Government and International Relations Griffith University in Australia who started the petition, confirmed the above to The Daily Star in reply to a query via email.
The petition and covering letter was also sent to the Minister of Home Affairs and the Australian High Commission in Bangladesh through email and mail on November 20.
Lucy West started the petition jointly with Dr Shannon Brincat and Dr Lee Morgenbesser.
Meanwhile, another petition “A Call to the Government of Bangladesh: Secure the Release of Mubashar Hasan Immediately” was started on Change.org and has been signed by 2,710 supporters so far and counting.
