'Multistoried quarters for govt staff at all divisional cities '

The government will build multistoried quarters for its employees in all divisional cities in order to extend their residence facilities.

Housing and Public Works Minister Engr Mosharraf Hossain said while addressing the conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) at the Secretariat in Dhaka.

Apart from building residential apartment complexes in Dhaka, the ministry has taken an initiative to construct 1,260 flats under two projects in Chittagong city, the Housing and Public Works ministry said.

Meanwhile, in Noakhali district, work is going on to construct 280 flats.

The ministry also expressed hope to eventually plan on building dormitories for all gazetted female employees. 

A project to construct a dormitory for 64 employees in Chittagong city has been okayed recently.

In the three-day DC conference, the district heads of the government placed proposals for the construction of separate residential blocks for different government officials.
