Teenager held over raping girl in C’nawabganj

A 19-year-old has been arrested from Chapainawabganj on charges of raping a schoolgirl in Naogaon.

The arrestee is Sarwar Hossain,19, held from Gomastapur upazila and hailing from Naogaon, our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports quoting Rapid Action Battalion (Rab).

A rape case was field against Sarwar with Niamatpur Police Station in Naogaon on April 23, accusing him of raping an SSC examinee of this year. The victim’s sister filed the case a day after the alleged rape.

A team of Rab-5 from Chapainawabganj raided the house of Sarwar’s relative in Mochkoil village of Gomastapur around 05:00am today and arrested him, said Mohammad Sayed Abdullah Al Murad, commander of the camp.
