7-murder: Court asks for publishing ad for 13 fugitives
A Narayanganj court today directed the authorities concerned to publish advertisements in newspapers asking 13 fugitives, including eight Rab personnel, to appear before it in Narayanganj seven murder case.
Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate HM Shafiqul Islam also ordered the authorities concerned to submit the copy of the advertisement before the court by November 9, Prosecutor KM Fazlur Rahman told our Narayanganj correspondent.
The court also rejected a bail petition of Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, a former official of Rapid Action Battalion. Tareque and 20 other charge-sheeted accused now in custody were produced before the court today.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his four associates, and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were abducted and killed allegedly by allegedly some Rab-11 personnel. Their bodies were later found floating in the Shitalakkhya river.
Three Rab officials -- Tareque, Maj Arif Hossain and Lt Commander SM Masud Rana -- were sacked later following the murder.
Detectives on April 8 submitted the charge sheet of the sensational killing case against 35 naming Nur Hossain as the prime accused.
The 35 include 25 members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) including Tareque Sayeed, Arif and Masud.
