Two children succumb to injuries
Two children died yesterday a day after they and three others had been injured in an explosion in Chattogram.
Tanim, 3, and Razia Sultana, 11, succumbed to their injuries at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Dr Mrinal Kanti Das, head of its Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit.
Rubi Akter, 16, another injured, was being sent to Dhaka for better treatment, said Alauddin Talukder of CMCH Police Camp.
The other two -- Soni Akter, 26, and her one-year-old daughter Meem -- were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The explosion occurred at a house on the third floor of a three-storey building at Aman Bazar in Hathazari upazila on Wednesday.
Nur-e-Alam Mina, superintendent of police in Chattogram, said there was a leakage in gas line. The incident happened when someone lit a match in the kitchen, he added.
