3 including 2 children killed in Bogura road crash

Three persons including two children were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Shibganj upazila of Bogura early today.

The victims -- Shabnur, 22, wife of Manowar Hossain of Bohora village in Pirganj upazila of Thakurganj district, her two-and-half-years-old daughter Manjila Akhter and a minor boy Mehdi Hasan, 6, son of Al Amin— were hailed from Dinajpur, said Md Abdul Kader Zilani, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Highway Police Station.

A Dhaka-bound passenger bus turned turtle after losing its control in Rahobal Bazar area around 1:00am, leaving the trio dead on the spot, the OC told our Bogura correspondent.

The injured persons are undergoing treatment at the local hospital, the OC said.

Informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, OC said, adding that they have seized the bus while its driver managed to flee the scene.
