3 tourists stabbed and mugged in Cox’s Bazar
Three tourists were mugged and stabbed at Cox's Bazar beach yesterday night.
The tourists are Nayeem Sheikh, 25, a student of Chattogram University; Salauddin Razzak, 31, and Mosharaf Hossain Jony, 32, both businessmen of Pallabi area in Dhaka.
Among them, condition of Nayeem was critical, our district correspondent reports quoting doctors of Cox's Bazar General Hospital, where they were undergoing treatment.
The incident happened at Jhaubithi area of Shoibal Point of the beach around 9:00pm, said Md Sarwar Hossain, a lifeguard.
Hearing their screams, they advanced toward the spot and found the injured trio on the ground bleeding, Sarwar said.
The injured were sent to the hospital immediately.
Police came to know the names of some muggers and drives are on to detain them, said Md Masud Khan, inspector (operation) of Cox's Bazar Police Station.
