Detectives in separate drives arrested four youths and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession in Akua area of Mymensingh town early yesterday. The arrestees are Pappu, 22, Raju, 21, Shamim, 23, and Sunny, 25. They were involved in drug trading in different areas of the town, said Imarat Hossain Gazi, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch (DB) of Police, Mymensingh. On information, a police team raided a rented house in Akua Lichu Bagan area around 2:00am and arrested Raju and Pappu. Following their statement, law enforcers also raided Akua Chourangir More area and arrested Sunny and Shamim. The DB team recovered two pistols, a machete, two magazines and seven bullets from their possession. Police yesterday produced the arrestees before a Mymensingh court that sent them to jail.
