4-year-old allegedly raped by father in Jashore

A four-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by her father at Newtown area in Jashore Sadar upazila.

The father, a 45-year-old, was arrested today in a case filed in this connection with Jashore Kotwali Police Station, our Benapole correspondent reports quoting police.

The incident took place Wednesday night, Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of the police station, said citing case statement.

The child's mother was asleep at the time, he said.

Hearing the screams of the victim, family members woke up and caught the culprit in the act. The girl was later admitted to Jashore General Hospital for treatment, the OC said.

The victim's mother filed the case early today.
