Police recovered five bodies from different upazilas of Narayanganj today.

Two of them were found dead in Sadar upazila while two others in Bandar upazila and a man in Araihazar upazila, our local correspondent reports.

In Sadar upazila, locals found body of an unknown youth on Mijmiji Matin road around 8:30am. Being informed, police recovered the body.

Police are yet to identify the body, said HM Jashim Uddin, inspector (operation) of Siddhirganj Police Station.

The body bore several injury marks, Inspector Jashim said adding someone might torture and kill the youth and then dumped on the road.

Meanwhile, locals found a middle-aged woman dead in a field in Lalkha area of Fatulla this morning, said Hasanujjaman, inspector (investigation) of Fatulla Model Police Station.

The deceased was identified as Shefali Begum, 42, a resident of Lalkha area.

In Bandar upazila, Mizan Shikder Mishud, 28, a garment worker, was killed allegedly by two persons at a school premises around 9:00am, our correspondent reports quoting Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station.

The two persons -- Mithu Hossain and Munna Haque – were arrested and confessed to killing Mizan, OC Rafiqul said.

Meanwhile, a man, Barek Mia, 49, died of electric shock in Shantinagar area, Abu Taleb, sub-inspector of Bandar Police Station, said quoting Barek Mia's family.

In Araihazar upazila, Suruj Mia, 40, a land broker, was killed in front of Fatehpur CD Market around 6:30am.

Suruj Mia locked into a clash with three persons -- Abul Mia, Moktar Mia and Rezaul Mia – over selling a piece of land that belonged to one Gulzar Hossain, our correspondent reports quoting Shafiqul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Araihazar Police Station.

He was beaten by the three and fell unconscious, the police official said.

Later locals rescued him and took to local health complex where doctors declared him dead, the police official said.
