64kg gold recovered at Dhaka airport
Customs intelligence today claimed to have recovered at least 64kg of gold from cargo section of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
On secret information, a team of custom intelligence conducted a search at the cargo section of the airport around 5:30pm and recovered four bags with the gold, Moazzam Hossain, commissioner of the Customs House told The Daily Star.
The officials recovered 640 gold bars, weighing 64 kgs, from the four bags, a customs official said.
The market price of the gold is estimated around Tk 36 crore, the official added.
“We do not know who and how the gold was kept in the cargo section of the airport. An investigating is on to know further detail in this regard, Moazzam Hossain further said.
