AL men accord grand reception to Hasina
A large number of leaders and activists of ruling Awami League accorded a grand reception to Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina for receiving "Champions of the Earth" award.
Hundreds of activists started to gather forming long rows on the footpaths from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Gono Bhaban to welcome the prime minister on her return.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the prime minister and members of her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 1:05pm, BSS reports.
People were seen lining up by the street from around 11:00am to accord a heartiest welcome to the premier, who arrived here from London after wrapping up her eight-day official visit to the USA to attend the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The road from Balaka to Banani was gridlocked as supporters stand in rows to welcome the prime minister, reports our correspondent from the spot.
On her way to Dhaka from London, the prime minister made a one-hour stopover at Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

Sheikh Hasina went to New York on September 24 to join the 70th UN General Assembly.
She received the "Champions of the Earth" award at a programme in New York in recognition of Bangladesh's far-reaching initiatives on climate change and "ICT Sustainable Development Award" for her contribution to Information Communication and Technologies.
The two Dhaka city corporations will also accord a reception to her on Monday for receiving the environmental accolade, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq said.
The programme will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
