Army man killed in Bandarban
A member of Bangladesh Army was killed in Bandarban today during training exercise.
A release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today said a bomb exploded during Bandarban field firing range training around 10:30am.
The explosion killed one Sainik and injured 11 others, the press release said. However, the identity of the deceased army man was not disclosed.
The injured others were immediately taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, on helicopters, the press release added.
Our Bandarban correspondent quotes Dr Prattosh Paul Tripura, resident medical officer (RMO) at Bandarban Sadar Hospital, to say the deceased was Jahidul Islam, hailing from Lama upazila of the district.
The doctor said, the body was handed over to Bangladesh Army after autopsy this afternoon.
