A Bangladeshi cattle grazier was killed allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members in the Indian territory opposite to Satkhira frontier early today.

Moslem Ali, 28, was shot dead by the BSF members of Khalisha camp at Basirhat of West Bengal around 4:30am, our Satkhira correspondent reports quoting Babur Ali, the father-in-law of the deceased.

Moslem, son of Jeher Ali, was a resident of Pacharki village in Satkhira Sadar upazila, he said.

BSF members opened fire at Moslem who along with four to five others were returning with cattle through the border, alleged Babur Ali.

The deceased and his group went to India to bring cattle crossing the Kushkhali border last evening, he added.

Law enforcers of Sarupnagar Police Station in Basirhat, India recovered the body of the victim around 9:30am, a local at the border, seeking anonymity, told this correspondent.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali, a naik subedar of Kushkhali camp of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said the identity of a cattle grazier, who was killed in the firing 300 yards inside the Indian territory, was not known immediately.

They are conducting an inquiry on this matter, he said.
