Bhaluka hospital sealed

A private hospital in Bhaluka upazila was sealed yesterday by a mobile court following allegation that a carrying woman died due to doctor's negligence on Wednesday.

A court led by Executive Magistrate Afroza Akhter raided Tahmina General Hospital and Diagnostic Centre and sealed the clinic around 11:00am.

The court also detained Saidur Rahman, 26, an employee of the hospital, from the spot, said Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Mohammad Hazrat Ali of Bhaluka Police Station.

Later, the court sentenced Saidur to five-day imprisonment for storing contaminated medicines, the OC added.

Meanwhile, a three-member probe committee was formed yesterday to investigate the death of the patient and was asked to submit its report within 15 working days.
