Cattle trader shot dead by BSF

A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Mollarchar border in Roumari upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased is Monser Ali, 40, son of late Sorman Ali of Bamonerchar area in the upazila.

Police and locals said Monser along with other cattle traders went to the border area to bring Indian cattle around 9:30pm.

At one stage, BSF men opened fire, leaving him seriously injured. He later succumbed to his bullet injuries at the upazila health complex.

Monsur was killed by BSF, ABM Shazedul Islam, officer-in-charge of Roumari Police Station, said, adding that they informed Border Guard Bangladesh about the matter.
