Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam will enjoy the rank and status of a minister.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek will get the rank and status of a state minister.
The decision took immediate effect, the gazette said.
