Fire in Gazipur textile warehouse brought under control
A fire that broke out at a cotton warehouse of a textile factory in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila this afternoon was brought under control after more than five hours of frantic effort from firefighters.
Seven units of firefighters brought the blaze under control around 7:15pm, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting Abdul Alim, deputy director of Fire Service unit-3 in Gazipur.
There were no causalities, the official said.
The fire broke out in the warehouse of Viyellatex Limited located in Tepirbari area around 1:45pm, said Alim.
When informed, the firefighting units from Kaliakoir and Sreepur of Gazipur, Bhaluka and Trishal of Mymensingh rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after more than five hours of frantic effort, the official added.
The reason behind the fire could not be known yet.
