Gazipur textile factory gutted in fire

A textile factory was gutted in a fire this noon in Malek-er Bari area of Gazipur city.

The fire is suspected to have originated due to technical mishap while setting the boiler machine in the factory of Unimax Textile Limited today, Jakir Hossain, senior station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Joydebpur, told our local correspondent.

The incident took place around 12:15pm today. On information, three units of fire-fighters went to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 1:15pm, the official said.

No casualty occurred in the incident, he said, adding that the boiler machine and some other equipment were damaged in the fire.

The extent of damage caused by the blaze is yet to be determined.
