A minor girl of the district, who sustained injuries in an attack over a disputed land on Friday, died on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital yesterday.

The victim is Yeasmin Begum, 12, daughter of Yeasin Ali of Kalibari village in Sribardi upazila.

Police and locals said there was a longstanding conflict between Yeasin and his neighbour Samiul Haque over the land.

As a sequel to the conflict, Samiul and his men on Friday afternoon swooped on the house of his rival, leaving Yeasin, his daughter Yeasmin and another woman seriously injured.

The injured were rushed to Sherpur Hospital. Yeasmin was referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

She died on way to the hospital yesterday afternoon.
