Govt to control staffing in pvt education bodies
-- New commission by a month
-- Decision in view of "complaints"
-- The body will recruit teachers for pvt schools
The government plans to regulate staffing in non-government schools, colleges and madrassas, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said today.
A commission will be set up by a month to regulate the recruitment of teachers, he told reporters in a press briefing at the education ministry.
The commission will conduct examinations for potential candidates, prepare merit list and recruit persons for vacant posts, the minister added.
The ministry received complaints of graft and irregularities in teacher selection in those institutions over the years, a ministry official said seeking anonymity.
Currently the recruitment is done by the respective school's management committee. Those bodies will continue to recruit teachers until the commission is formed, Nahid said.
The new commission will be named Non-government Teachers' Selection Commission.
