India eases visa for envoy, govt official family
There will be no need for e-token to tour India for the families of diplomatic and government official passport holders from next year, the neighbouring country said today.
"This is a goodwill gesture extended for the benefit of families travelling to India," our New Delhi correspondent reports quoting a High Commission press release.
From January 1, 2017, spouse and children of diplomatic and official Bangladesh passport holders can submit their tourist visa application without e-token, reads the release.
The application can be directly forwarded to IVAC Uttara, Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC), Sector-7, Road 18, House 56, Uttara, Dhaka 1230 from 9:00am to 12:00noon.
The original passport has to be shown at the time of submission and a copy of the passport should be attached with the visa application form, the press release instructed.
Also, in a separate press release, the High Commission announced scrapping of e-token for Bangladeshi children below the age of 18 years of age accompanying their parents for India visit.
Parents can submit Tourist visa application forms of their children along with their forms at Indian Visa Application Centers (IVACs), the press release said.
Yesterday, in a move to liberalise the visa policy for Bangladesh, India scrapped the system of e-token for visa application submission for all – a system that will come into effect from January.
