Nat’l Nazrul conference begins in Pabna
Three-day long National Nazrul Conference began at Pabna Edward College today.
Cultural Affairs Secretary Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal inaugurated the conference this morning, reports our Pabna correspondent.
Nazrul Institute under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs organised the national conference and arranged the eight-day book fair at the venue.
Earlier this morning, a colourful procession comprising with the students of different educational institutions and cultural activists paraded the main streets of the district marking the occasion.
A discussion was featured on the occasion chaired by Pabna deputy commissioner Jasim Uddin while the vice-chancellor of Rabindra University Dr Bishwajit Ghosh spoke as the special guest.
Speakers at the programme focused the literary works of Kazi Nazrul Islam and stressed on the importance to learn Nazrul to become a patriotic citizen.
Leading Nazrul artists across the country performed music, recited poems and danced in the programme.
