A local Jubo League leader was hacked to death by his “party rivals” in Sadar upazila of Natore this evening, police said.

The deceased was identified as Hasan Ali Kha, 24, president of Harishpur union's No.1 ward unit of Jubo League and son of Molla Khan in Dattapara area , our Natore correspondent reports quoting police.

Officer-In-Charge of Sadar Police Station Kazi Jalal Uddin said a group of people led by one Shawon, his brother Sohan and Sajib attacked Hasan with lethal weapons at a tea stall in Dattapara Bazar in the evening.

Critically injured, Hasan was first taken to Natore Sadar Hospital and later he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead, victim’s cousin Anisur Rahman told our Natore correspondent.

Anisur claimed that the followers of Harishpur union parishad member Salauddin Sentu made the attack as a sequel of longstanding dispute with Hasan over establishing supremacy in the area.

Protesting the death, the agitating mob set the fire to the houses of Sentu and Shawon, the OC further said.
