Nusrat murder accused Shakil held
Another accused of Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case was arrested from Feni this afternoon.
Tipped off, a team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested Mohiuddin Shakil from Purba Ukilpara of Feni town in the afternoon, said PBI Inspector Mohammad Shah Alam.
Shakil was on guard when Nusrat was set on fire, according to PBI.
Nuruddin and Shahadat Hossain Shamim, two prime accused of the case, narrated about Shakil’s act during their confessional statements before a Feni court on April 14, PBI said.
With this, 21 people were arrested so far in connection with the murder, Feni correspondent reports quoting Alam, the investigation officer of the case.
WHAT HAPPENED TO NUSRAT?
After fighting for her life for five days, Nusrat succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on April 10.
On April 6, she was set afire at an examination centre of Alim examination allegedly by students loyal to Principal Siraj Ud Doula of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa after he was arrested and subsequently suspended as Rafi had accused him of sexually harassing her.
