Pabna school headmaster beaten to death

A headmaster of a school was beaten to death over what the family members claimed was a land dispute in Atgharia upazila of Pabna this morning.

The deceased, Ashraf Ali, 45, was the headmaster at Fulbaria Primary School in Ekdanta union of the upazila, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting police.

Ashraf Ali was also the general secretary of Atgharia upazila Teachers’ Association, the correspondent reports quoting locals and family members.

Deceased Ashraf Ali was having land related dispute with his neighbour, reports the correspondent quoting Ashraf Ali’s son.

Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge of Atgharia Police Station Rakibul Islam confirmed that police have been sent to the area.

Preparation is ongoing to send Ashraf Ali’s body to the morgue.
