Paltan blast: CTTC arrests 5 ‘Neo JMB’ men from Sylhet

A team of Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested five members of "Neo JMB" from Sylhet in connection with the recent explosion in Dhaka's Paltan area.

CTTC Chief Monirul Islam revealed the information during a press briefing in Dhaka this afternoon.

The arrestees are: Sayem Mirza, Rubel Ahmed, Sanaul Islam Sadik, Sheikh Sultan Md Naimuzzaman and Abdur Rahim Jewel, Monirul said during the briefing.

They admitted to their involvement behind the Paltan blast on July 24 and the blast at a Naogaon temple on July 31, the CTTC chief also said.

They also planned an explosion at Hazrat Shahjalal's shrine in Sylhet, but failed, he added.
