PM’s accusation may hinder fair probe: BNP
BNP spokesperson Ashaduzzaman Ripon today criticised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for accusing the party's leaders and activists of carrying out secret killings in the country.
"Such remarks may hinder the investigation into the recent killings," Ripon said at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
"BNP has always been a democratic political party, but the chief of government is blaming us for carrying out secret killings in the country. It is nothing, but a blatant lie," he added.
Ripon was briefing the newsmen hours after the PM accused the BNP men of carrying our secret killings.
Ripon, also the foreign affairs secretary of the party, said the government should be proactive to find out real facts behind all the killings through a fair investigation but instead it is blaming BNP with ill-political intentions.
Demanding an impartial investigation into all the killing incidents, Ripon said the main culprits behind the attacks will be spared if the government does not fully focus on the investigation.
The government is trying to hide the facts, he alleged.
