Rail link with north resumes
Rail communication with the northern part of the country snapped after an uprooted tree fell on the lines of Pabna during a nor’ wester this evening.
Lines were suspended since 6:30pm, our local correspondent reports. Later, after nearly three-and-half hours, the rail link was restored.
“An uprooted tree fell on the rail tracks in Vangura upazila,” Abdullah Al Mamun, transport officer of Bangladesh Railway at Pakshey Division, said.
The lines were restored after salvage operation.
Several trains including a Silk City Express were delayed.
