Smooth celebration on Pahela Baishakh to be ensured: Minister

The government will do everything possible for the smooth celebration of Pahela Baishakh across the country, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said today.

“The capacity of our law enforcing agencies has increased, they are now ready to face any sorts of challenges,” the home minister said while talking to journalists after observing security measures at Ramna Batamul this morning.

Cyber security unit is also keeping watch on social media platforms to prevent spreading of any rumours which might cause unrest, Kamal said.

Law enforcing agencies are maintaining the highest alert in Dhaka and across the country, he added.

In this situation, “We believe there are no imminent threats regarding the celebrations countrywide,” Kamal also said.

All the areas of celebration in the capital are under the radius of close circuit cameras. All the rallies and big gatherings will be under compact security system.

The home minister also urged all from every sector of life to participate in the celebrations fearlessly.
