N’ganj man murders wife ‘over property’ after divorce

A man has allegedly murdered his wife over sharing of property after divorce in Narayanganj’s Fatullah.

The deceased was identified as Ferdousi Begum Sabiha, 34, a resident of Pagla in Fatullah, sub-inspector Bachchu Miah, also in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), told The Daily Star.

Sabiha used to live in Pagla area with her daughter at her brother’s house after getting a divorce from her husband Nizam Uddin three months back, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Police Station Kamal Uddin told The Daily Star.

The incident took place in the area around 12:00pm today as Nizam wanted the refund of a piece of land which he gave to Sabiha during their marriage, said the OC. 

Nizam stabbed her with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving her injured critically. She was taken to the DMCH where doctors declared her dead around 1:30pm, added the OC.
