Quader not being moved anywhere now

Doctors at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) have said Obaidul Quader will not be moved anywhere now.

“It is not possible to move him before a 24-hour observation period,” said Prof Dr Kanak Kranti Barua, pro-vice chancellor of the university.

So, for now, ruling Awami League’s general secretary and Road Transport Minister Quader will continue to take treatment at BSMMU.

SINGAPORE DOCTORS WANT TO TAKE HIM

Singaporean doctors have suggested to move Obaidul Quader to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, a senior leader of Awami League has said.

They came up with the recommendation after examining Quader and finding him improving a bit, Lt Col (retd) Faruk Khan told The Daily Star.

Indian doctors are also supposed to arrive to determine the situation of Quader, ruling Awami League’s general secretary and road transport minister.

The two Singaporean doctors flew Dhaka this evening around 6:52pm, Group Captain Abdullah Al Farooq, director of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, told The Daily Star.

WHAT HAPPENED TO QUADER?

Earlier this morning, Quader was hospitalised following breathing problems post-Fazr hours. He was diagnosed with three blocks in the heart.

While undergoing treatment at the hospital, Quader underwent another heart attack. 

Now, doctors say he will be under observation for 24-72 hours. After the observation period, the doctors can ascertain his condition.

According to them, Quader was suffering from uncontrolled diabetes and blood pressure. Also, the road transport minister has electrolyte imbalance.

Quader is now at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University is in a critical condition, undergoing treatment at the coronary care unit.
