Order to attach assets of Tangail MP Rana, his brothers
A Tangail court has ordered attachment of assets of 10 persons including Awami League (AL) lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana and his three brothers in a case filed for the murder of a freedom fighter.
Senior Judicial Magistrate in Tangail Golam Kibria issued the order yesterday, reports our Tangail correspondent.
Responding to the ruling, orders of asset attachment of nine fugitives were sent to Tangail Model Police Station while for the other one was sent to the Kalihati Police Station, Tangail court Inspector Anwar Hossain told The Daily Star.
The accused are: Rana, AL lawmaker from Tangail-3 (Ghatail); his brothers Shahidur Rahman Khan Mukti, Jahidur Rahman Khan Kakon, and Saniyat Khan Bappa; Rana’s aides Kabir Hossain, Babu Miah, Anisul Islam Raja, Mohammad Ali, Farid Miah and Samir Hossain; and former Jubo League leaders Alamgir Hossain Chan, Nasir Uddin Nuru, Sanwar Hossain and Masudur Rahman.
Of them, Raja, Mohammad Ali, Samir Hossain and Farid Miah are now in jail.
Earlier on April 6, the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in Tangail issued arrest warrants against the 10 fugitives.
