UP polls violence victim dies in Rajshahi
A man, who was critically injured in violence over the fourth phase of the union parishad polls held on May 7, died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital early today.
Montaj Ali was hit by a bullet in his lower abdomen during a clash on the day of elections, said Motiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station.
Montaj hailed from Sarandi village in Bagmara upazila, the OC said.
With him, four people were killed in Rajshashi in violence over the polls.
On May 7, two people were killed and 50 others hurt in a clash between the supporters of Awami League chairman candidate, its rebel candidate and police in Auchpara union in Bagmara.
Another victim died from his injuries at a local clinic on May 9.
