Prof Rezaul killing probe at final stage: Home minister
Investigation into Professor Rezaul Karim Siddiquee killing case is now at the final stage and the killers could be arrested anytime, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today.
“We can bring the killers to book anytime but we are silent for the sake of the investigation,” he said while addressing a programme at Rajshahi University (RU) today.
RU Teachers’ Association organised the programme at Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium around 1:00pm protesting the gruesome murder of Prof Siddiquee.
“Additional law enforcers will be deployed at Rajshahi city to beef up security,” Kamal also said.
The home boss also assured Prof Siddiquee’s daughter Rizwana Hasin Shatovi that she would get justice.
Addressing the rally, Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque said, “We are working internally but publicly silent for the sake of investigation.”
IGP urged the teachers and students to keep faith on police.
