Rajshahi plane crash: Injured instructor flown to Singapore
The chief instructor of Bangladesh Flying Academy, who was wounded in a plane crash in Rajshahi yesterday, was flown to Singapore from Combined Military Hospital (CMH) of Dhaka early today for better treatment.
Lt Col (retd) Sayeed Kamal suffered 70 burn injuries when the Cessna-152 crashed at Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi, Captain Shahab Uddin Ahmed, immediate past president of Bangladesh Flying Academy, told The Daily Star.
A trainee pilot, Tamanna Rahman Rhidi, 22, died when she was doing her first solo flight with just 15 hours of flying experience.
Sayeed was first admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rajshahi. Later, he was flown to Dhaka.
Bangladesh Army sent Sayeed Kamal to Singapore by an air ambulance early today for better treatment there, Shahab Uddin said.
He reached there around 5:00am (Bangladesh time), he said.
