Sex assault: Gaibandha primary school headmaster suspended

The headmaster of a primary school in Fulchhari upazila of Gaibandha has been suspended over allegation of sexually harassing a class V student.

Upazila Education Officer Abdullahish Shafi told our Gaibandha correspondent that he received a mail from Deputy Director Mohiuddin Talukdar of Primary Education Directorate, Rangpur Division, in this regard today.

The mail says Aynal Haque, headmaster of Udakhali Government Primary School, has been suspended from February 25.

According to locals, the headmaster sexually harassed the victim in front of the whole class on February 25. Aynal went into hiding following the incident.

Meanwhile, agitated guardians kept the school locked last Saturday protesting the incident, reports our Gaibandha correspondent.
