US-Bangla Airlines crash survivor Shaheen Bepari today died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

He breathed his last at 4:45pm, hours after he was taken on life support at the hospital, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, national coordinator of burn unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, told The Daily Star.

Shaheen, 33, was shifted to the ICU at the hospital and put on life support last night.

He had 35 percent burn injuries and his condition was critical, the doctor said earlier in the day.

Shaheen, a businessman of Sadarghat who was on that ill-fated flight for a vacation, had been undergoing treatment at DMCH for the past nine days.

He was brought to the hospital on March 18.

A Bombardier Dash 8 of US-Bangla with 71 people slammed on an empty field and burst into flames at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmundu of Nepal on March 12.

With the death of Shaheen, total 50 people, including 27 Bangladeshis, died in the US-Bangla Airlines plane crash.

Bepari was among the 10 Bangladeshi crash survivors.
