Student killed in BCL infighting at Sylhet college
A BCL activist of Sylhet Madan Mohan College was stabbed to death today after a row with another activist of the party.
The victim was identified as Abdul Alim, 19, a second year student of the college and an activist of BCL, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
He was stabbed on the second floor of the college.
He died of his wounds at the Sylhet Osmani Medical College around 3:00pm, said Sohel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sylhet Kotwali Police Station.
Police filed a case in this regard with Kotwali Model Police Station around 6:00pm, accusing two students of the college.
Meanwhile, police arrested the two accused Pranajit Das, 21, and Basu Dey, 24, in connection with the murder.
Both of them are second-year-student of the college, said Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Mosharrof Hossain of Kotwali Model Police Station, adding that Pranajit is the prime accused in the case.
Sylhet district Chhatra League Vice-President Ali Hossain confirmed the identities of the two accused as his party activists.
