Sust suspends 5 for ‘ragging female student’
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) in Sylhet has suspended its five of its students over allegation of ragging a female student.
University authority has formed a three-member team to investigate the incident, Kamruzzaman Chowdhury proctor of the university told Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
The suspended students are identified as Mosharraf Hossain, Nazrul Islam, Mosharraf Hossain, Mahmudul Hassan and Osim Biswas.
Primary probe report found their involvement in ragging a female student of mathematics department on January 28.
Professor Zahir Bin Alam of environment and technology department has been made convener of the investigation team. Two others are Professor Amina Parvin of social works and Professor Munsi Naser Ibne Afzal of economics departments.
