Tenth grader murdered in Manikganj

A teenage school student has been murdered in Manikganj town.

Deceased Rakib, 17, son of Khalilur Rahman, was a tenth grader at Manikganj Technical School and College, our local correspondent reports quoting police and family sources.

Victim’s family and locals alleged, one Mithu, 22, called out Rakib from his home around 9:00pm last night and stabbed him indiscriminately in a local paddy field.

Locals found his body and rushed him to Manikganj Sadar Hospital. He was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, but he succumbed on the way to Dhaka.

Khalilur Rahman, father, said that before dying Rakib mentioned Mithu as his murderer.

Manikganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rokibuzzaman said the motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained. No arrests were made until the filing of this report.
