Top human trafficker held in Cox’s Bazar

A top human trafficker was arrested by the police from Nayarpara village in Teknaf upazila early Sunday.

The arrestee, Shamsul Alam Markin is also an arms and drugs peddler, Ataur Rahman Khandaker, officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station, told our Cox’s Bazar correspondent. 

Acting on a tip-off, cops raided Shamsul’s village home in Nayarpara and arrested him around 1:15am, he said. There are at least seven cases against Shamsul.

The arrested trafficker will be presented before the Cox Bazar Judicial Magistrate court late today.
