Man beaten to death in Narayanganj

A young man was beaten to death by a mob while he was caught “mugging” in Sadar upazila of Narayanganj today. 

The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 25, reports our Narayanganj correspondent quoting Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj Sadar Police Station.

Locals caught Al Amin while he was mugging an unidentified person in the early hours in front of Chashara Dak Bungalow in the upazila, the official said.

Locals beat him up, injuring him severely. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.

His body was taken to the Narayanganj General Hospital Morgue for an autopsy.

Al Amin was a listed “mugger and a suspected drug addict” and was caught by locals several times before, the official said.

A case will be filed in this regard.
