Attempted rape: Pori Moni files case against Nasir Mahmud, 5 others

After actress Pori Moni alleged attempted rape and murder last night, a case was filed with Savar Police Station against six persons this morning in this regard.

Kazi Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Savar Police Station confirmed the development to The Daily Star.

He, however, declined to give further information on the case. 

Last night, the actress alleged that she asked law enforcement agencies for help but no one has been able to provide assistance.

Police sources said Pori Moni filed the case accusing Nasir U Mahmud, former president of Uttara Club Limited, a businessman named Omie, and four other unnamed persons.

The incident came to light after Pori Moni posted a status on her verified Facebook page, claiming attempted rape and murder.

She addressed the post to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, asking for justice as a citizen of Bangladesh.

She held a press conference later last night and alleged that Nasir and Omie wanted to rape and murder her.
