Dead bodies of a couple recovered from Nakhalpara
Police recovered the bodies of a couple from an NGO office/residence in Dhaka's Nakhalpara area this morning.
The deceased were identified as Asmat Ali (45), and his wife Farzana Begum (33).
On information, police rushed to the house and recovered the bodies around 10:30am, said Kamal Uddin, inspector (investigation) of Tejgaon Police Station.
The body of the man was hanging from a ceiling fan, while his wife was lying on the floor. She had head injuries, the inspector said.
The police officer said the house is also being used as the office for an NGO, and Farzana used to work as a cleaner there while her husband was a fish trader.
The couple had a quarrel last night. Police primarily suspected that Asmat killed himself after killing his wife, the inspector said.
Crime scene unit of CID was collecting evidence from the spot at the time of filing this report.
