India issues high alert along border
The Border Security Force (BSF) has issued a high alert and enhanced vigilance along the Indian borders with Bangladesh after gunman attacked a restaurant in capital's Gulshan on Friday night.
“As it is, the festival season of Eid and Rath Yatra, there was a strict vigilance on the border. But after yesterday's attack in Bangladesh, we have further increased our vigilance,” Sandeep Salunke, IG, BSF told the local media.
“We have issued high alert and special operations are on,” he said.
The BSF is in touch with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and keeping a close eye on the situation. “We are constantly in touch with Indian intelligence agencies and also with the BGB,” he said.
