5 must-listen songs of Sandhya Mukhopadhyay
Gitashree Sandhya Mukhopadhyay passed away earlier today, after suffering from a heart attack. She was 90.
In her illustrious career of over 7 decades, she lent her voice to some of the finest classical songs, and tracks for films as well.
The legendary singer sang for Bengali and Hindi films, and her duets with eminent singer Hemanta Mukherjee are beloved by many.

Ei Poth Jodi Na Shesh Hoy
This iconic track, picturised on eminent artistes Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, is from the 1961 film, "Saptapadi". Hemanta Mukhopadhyay apart from composing the song also lent his voice to it. The lyrics are written by Gauriprasanna Mazumder.
E Shudhu Ganer Din
This song from the film "Pothe Holo Deri" is beautifully sung by the Gitashree. The film was released in 1979.
Robin Chatterjee directed the music, while Gauriprasanna Mazumder penned the song, picturised on noted actress Suchitra Sen.
Ami Tar Chholonay
This song, originally voiced by Sandhya Mukhopadhyay, has been remade several times. It is from the film "Ki Kori Sajani".

This is another classical number by Sandhya Mukhopadhyay.
